My interest in film programming began in 2020 during lockdowns, in which I undertook online courses in the areas of film curation, distribution, and gender representation in visual media. I began a Master's degree in Film Curation and Exhibition at the Northern Film School, Leeds in 2021, graduating with a Distinction in 2023.

At Leeds International Film Festival 2022, I programmed eight feature films for the New Directors Competition and Fanomenon sections of the festival. Alongside pre-selecting and programming, I hosted Q&A's with directors of the films including Thomas Hardiman (Medusa Deluxe), Maya Cueva (On The Divide), and Bianca Lucas (Love Dog).

In December 2022, I was chosen for a Programming and Curating placement with Raindance Film Festival London. During this placement, I worked closely with the programming team and Artistic Director to preselect feature films for the festival through FilmFreeway and undertook a research project into first-time filmmakers who are women.

In January 2023, I was asked to curate In Short, Europe short film festival in collaboration with EUNIC, the European National Institutes for Culture. Curating one short film from each EU country, the festival took place in Leeds and London at the Ciné Lumière. I presented both editions and moderated Q&As with visiting directors alongside film critics Danny Leigh (Financial Times) and Emma Pritchard Jones (BBC).

For the 2023 edition of Leeds International Film Festival, I was a lead programmer working on feature films and curating a programme of new Dutch shorts in association with the EYE Filmmusem in The Netherlands. Watching over 200 feature films, I programmed for the Official Selection, Cinema Versa and Feature Film Competition sections. Q&As for films I curated include Molly Manning Walker (How To Have Sex), Jeanie Finlay (Your Fat Friend), Tomas Gomez Bustillo (Chronicles of a Wandering Saint) and Naqqash Khalid (In Camera).

Alongside my work with festivals, I run the community events organisation Come On In which puts on music and film events in West Yorkshire that aim to highlight women and non-binary artists and encourage socialising through creative activities.

I also work at Hyde Park Picture House, a two-screen Grade II listed cinema in Leeds built in 1914. We screen a range of international cinema, from big new releases to arthouse retrospectives.
